A more accessible University

We are pleased to announce that we have been successful in our recent tender bid to carry out a universal access audit at the National University of Ireland Galway. The audit covers most of the South Campus and is being carried out to make the university accessible to all those who wish to use it. The audit identifies all areas/elements that are required to be compliant with:

• Disability Act 2005

• Part M of the Building Regulations 2010

We will carry out a strategic review of the Building Office and the Access Policy and Action Plan for 2014 – 2019. We will prepare a report outlining the main potential barriers in relation to access, which will cover issues such as entrances, interior design, egress, circulation and the external environment and approach. Where applicable, we will also include costings of the work required to upgrade facilities.
